About Megan

I am an avid reader, researcher, learner, agent author, and general connoisseur of all things Good, True and Beautiful. I love stories. I love people with stories. I love helping people discover how their stories matter.

I have tutored all ages in subjects spanning English literature, grammar, creative writing, reading comprehension and research/term papers in a variety of subjects and styles to instructing classes of 2 to 4 students each on the sections of ACT English and ACT Reading.

I have a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and a Bachelor of Arts in Music (an emphasis in both piano and vocal performance) from the University of Tennessee at Martin where I graduated Magna Cum Laude with a cumulative GPA of 3.85. My Master's degree is in American Historical Theology where I emphasized research in a variety of subjects including but not limited to the following: the theological implications of the sermons and poetry of John Donne; the Salem Witch trials and medieval feminist theology; and the religious influences and impact of the Civil War.

I am currently an agented YA Fiction Author with the first of a seven book saga on the publishing market. I am also a Managing Editor and Publishing Coordinator at a small publishing house.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Bible Studies

I have received a Master of Arts degree in American Historical Theology from Wheaton College Graduate School in Wheaton, IL -- famous for alum such as Billy Graham, John Piper, Rob Bell, AW Tozer, Jim & Elisabeth Elliot, etc. I studied extensively the history of the church in North America, sociology of evangelicalism (including the separation and history of denominations), and Christian theology (and all derivatives therein). I have served on the worship team, youth ministry and young adult ministry of several churches (as I've moved quite a bit). And I currently work for a small Christian publisher where I comb through manuscripts for well written, theologically sound material that matches our statement of faith and publishing needs.
