Alabama A&M University (English)
Greetings, My name is Clyde F. I am 25 years of age and a former student at Alabama A&M University, where I majored in English. My main points of study were composition and literature. Sadly, I had to leave school due to financial issues, but I am still pursuing a writing career and am currently a freelance journalist.
I spent all four years of High School as a member of the school newspaper staff. I spent two years of my collegiate career on staff. I was also a member of NCCJ Heritage Panel, as well as the Rhyme & Reason and Poetry Clubs of my respective schools. In high school, I was a volunteer tutor to middle school students at various rec centers around the city. In college, I tutored my peers, often assisting with papers, essays etc. I have also worked with an organization called CDF Freedom Schools. It was a summer program in which I gave children reading assignments and exercises, as well as taught creative writing and drawing classes. I believe in not only making the learning material easier, but also building the self confidence of whomever it is that I am assisting.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
