Hey, Barry here! Thank you for taking a great leap forward. It’s hard to admit you need an extra boost, but it shows you’re willing to do whatever it takes to be successful. We share that commitment to success. At Notre Dame, I graduated summa cum laude with a perfect 4.0 GPA, receiving a Bachelor’s degree in Science-Business. With a near perfect score on the MCAT (523, 100th percentile), I was accepted to Johns Hopkins for medical school. Throughout high school, college, and medical school,...

Throughout high school, college, and medical school, I have enjoyed meaningful relationships with my tutors and professors. I know firsthand what a difference a caring, engaged, and thoughtful tutor makes. Deeply committed to making the same difference for younger students, I tutored Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Statistics, Biochemistry, Microbiology, and Calculus as a STEM Ambassador for 3 years at Notre Dame. During the summer in medical school, I taught science to high school students as part of the National Youth Leadership Forum.

Alongside teaching, I am passionate about mentoring and helping others move confidently and swiftly towards their goals. I was the President of College Mentors for Kids at Notre Dame and Curriculum Coordinator for BASE Mentoring at Johns Hopkins. Both of these activities involved creating and implementing lesson plans for high schoolers and providing needed mentorship. I founded Pathways to Success and was a Building Bridges mentor, two programs focused on taking college students to the next level.

My score on the ACT was a 35, which is in the 99th percentile. My score on the MCAT was a 523, which is in the 100th percentile. I am qualified to tutor for the MCAT and ACT, as well as provide coaching for both college and medical school admissions.

As President of College Mentors for Kids at Notre Dame, as a counselor for high school students at the National Youth Leadership Forum, and as a BASE leader at Johns Hopkins (specializing in helping inner city youth from Baltimore gain entrance to college), I gained extensive experience in assisting high school students prepare for and navigate the college admissions process. These experiences included but were not limited to counseling on personal statements and college-specific essays, application timelines, college interviews, scholarship opportunities, standardized testing strategy, and navigating application materials. The students I worked with through these programs were accepted at a rate exceeding the national average. Lastly, I founded the program Pathways to Success, which focuses on career choice counseling and professionalism throughout the admissions process.

Excellent teacher!

He started working with my son and now my daughter switched over to him also! Both of my kids are tutored by him weekly and progressing quite well. He leaves feedbacks after every lesson on what they covered and how they’re doing. Again, great tutor!

Great teacher

My son asked for him to be his ongoing tutor right away. Very patient, explains in simplified manner that kids can understand and lessons are paced very well. He is very highly recommended!
