Hello! I am a (somewhat recent) graduate from the University of Georgia with a B.S. in Mathematics currently working in the financial sector. While in my undergraduate, I became aware that office hours were a necessity with certain subject areas. You see, while class was sufficient to cover the required teaching material, there was simply enough time to ensure that every student was retaining the information the way they should. Much in the same fashion, I believe that having the extra time to go over material is pertinent to retaining information. I always try to present the material in a way that perhaps is different than in the classroom, often times tying in the subject matter to real world applications. I always ensure that there is ample time to work through problems together, reviewing steps along the way. So often Math is a subject area that has a bad association, my goal is to make the learning experience as pleasant as possible through a hands on approach.
I have been tutoring in and around the Athens area since August 2010 for a wide range of students. I have since moved to Macon where I continue to provide the same level of excellence with students. While at UGA, I was a member of the Math Club as well as volunteering at many organizations in the Athens and Atlanta areas. My experience includes tutoring on a weekly basis for numerous clients as well as working with students over a short period of time to help them get caught up. I have worked with students aging 12-23 over the course of the last six years or so. I have tutored in group settings in the past, but I found that one-on-one engagements seem to be the most effective. I specialize in Math ranging from the common core, to High School Calculus, to College Courses including (but not limited to): Linear Algebra, Graph Theory, and Vector Calculus on Manifolds. Aside from my experience tutoring, I have also grown up in a teaching environment. These experiences have bolstered my ability to assess a student’s challenges, and rather than judge thes
