I taught history and language arts in a small private school for ten years. I love teaching about the world. Some of my favorite places to learn about are the Near East, South America, and Russia. I also enjoy Grammar. I had an amazing Grammar teacher in middle school and her technique has stuck with me for 25 years. She was my inspiration when I taught Grammar and my students responded very well. I love to read and enjoy recommending book titles to my friends.
Some other things about myself are: I love to travel, I love sitcoms, and I have had the same best friend for 30 years. I spend my free time with my kids and husband. My favorite place to visit is Marrakech, Morocco (my husband's home country). I am almost finished obtaining my Master's degree and have very much enjoyed being back in school.
I am an outstanding history tutor because I have a true love and respect for the discipline and believe that it is very important. It is this high esteem that allows me to treat it as the interesting subject it is. History is our story and a story can be interesting and enthralling if the right person is telling it. I believe that historical knowledge allows a person to develop a unique world view. I also love to study what archaeologists have found to make every story more interesting.
I hope that anyone who struggles with social sciences will contact me. I look forward to helping you discover how amazing history, geography, and civics can be. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
