About Tiffanie

Hello! I hope my page finds you doing well. I know there are numerous tutors to choose from, and I appreciate you stopping by my page. Below you will find a brief introduction of me and the services I provide. I look forward to working with you and your student!

A lover of science and literature, I imagined I would discover cures for diseases while penning my first short story; then one day I realized that I was “good at people” engaging with, understanding and establishing meaningful connections with others regardless of their life experiences. I decided to become a lawyer to effectuate this desire of mine, and have maintained my commitment to tutoring and mentoring students of all ages. From group tutoring to private lessons, I have been tutoring part-time since 2003 - I enjoyed cultivating the ever growing minds and curiosities of my students.

My specializations:
I have worked with students ages 7 – 18.
Elementary and middle school subjects: math, reading, spelling, language arts, social studies.
High school subjects: Algebra I&II, Geometry, Biology, English Literature, American History, World History, Creative Writing.

I seek to directly engage my students, developing a rapport in order to gain trust - this is key, because in their minds, I am someone that can help them reach a goal that at times, may seem unattainable. I believe in positive reinforcement, diligence of effort, and identifying measurable goals, short and long term. At times extra work (provided by myself) is needed to develop critical study skills. I think the one thing I pride myself on, is that the kids I have worked with in the past and continue to work with, consider me a part of their life. We begin to move beyond functions and absolute value, and they open up to me, seeking advice on friends, siblings, and any other wonderings they might think.

Thank you for taking the time to read my page. I am willing to meet students at their preferred location (I do not have private space available). I hope to hear from you soon.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Criminal Justice

I tutored fellow law students in legal writing during my 3rd year of law school in legal writing. I have taught incarcerated youth various constitutional law modules. I have passed the UBE bar exam and I am credentialed to teach criminal justice.
