I am an Elementary Major. Right now, I am subbing, but I've taught Middle School Science and English. I have also taught many grades while doing long term sub jobs. I was even hired to tutor grades 3-5 in Reading and Math during school hours to help children in need. When I was teaching, I would stay after school to help children who needed extra help in my subjects. I am very easy to get along with and flexible.

What makes me a great Math tutor is that I am willing to sit down and go over the information with a student until they get it. If they don't understand it one way, I'll try and explain it another way. Math builds on its self, and if a student doesn't understand what they are learning, then they cannot move onto the next step.

What makes me great at grammar is that I taught it to three different grades. Each lesson builds on one another, and if a person doesn't understand one rule, it will confuse them to move on. I will make sure the student understands and is able to do the work themselves before moving onto the next subject.

What makes me a great Elementary tutor is that with subbing, I have been able to see how different schools and classrooms teach a subject. I have also been able to go from grade to grade to see what each grade is learning about and what the students need to know and what to focus on the most. For example, I have been exposed to the Math Investagations programs where a lot of parents have not. I have more of an insight of how to do the Math than other people.

I am a great person for tutor because I am a very flexible person to work with, yet I want the best for my person. I want to see a person strive and do better, and that is why you are looking for help. It is easier to work one on one and to break down the issues and find out what works for a person. When I see that a person finally understands and is doing better, not only do they feel good, but it is rewarding for myself too to see them doing so well.
