About Brian

Hi, my name is Brian! I was in the percussion section since seventh grade. Since then, I went on to march in the high school band, and eventually in the Million Dollar Band at the University of Alabama. I played the bass drum all four years and was section leader my senior year. During my time at UA, I went to several high schools to teach fundamentals of marching as well as working on basic drum patterns.

Since college, I went on to play poker in my spare time, which eventually lead to covering major tournaments for PokerPages.com and Rounder Magazine. I have been playing in the World Series of Poker since 2005, but have only had minimal success. During my time as a writer, I've gone to the World Poker Tour and World Series of Poker Boot Camps where I was able to get more training from top pro's as part of my writing.

I also went through culinary school in 2001 and went on to work for such big names as the Four Seasons, Donald Trump's Mar-A-Lago, and PGA Resort. I would be willing to do any type of cooking classes!

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Poker

Hi, my name is Brian. I began playing poker like most people, in my spare time in college. After college, I decided to read and play as much as I could to learn one of the greatest games. Soo, I would not just be playing poker, but covering major tournaments for Poker Pages. and Rounder Magazine. I have been playing in the World Series of Poker since 2005, but have only had small cashes online. During my time as a writer, I've gone to the World Poker Tour and World Series of Poker Boot Camps where I was able to get more training from top pro's as part of my writing.
