About Eric

Bio

My name is Eric. I think math is a great way of thinking, so I enjoy helping a student "get" it. I have a master's degree in mathematics and many years' teaching experience. For several years I've been tutoring students who are taking math classes. I have tutored mostly college students, but also some high-school, middle-school, and grade-school students.

French

French

If you want help with grammar and usage, I'm probably the tutor you need (or at least I'd be a good choice). If you want help with your accent, I'm definitely the tutor you need. We can make your accent really good if your ear is good, and even if your ear isn't great, we can still make your accent a whole lot better. I'm American. I learned French in college. My French is better now than it was when I was in college, because I use it regularly. I've done a good deal of teaching and tutoring in another subject (mathematics) and I've also tutored a few students (four?) in French.

Math

ACT Math,

ACT Math

I looked up the subject matter covered by the math part of the ACT, and it's all stuff I know well: pre-algebra, elementary algebra, intermediate algebra, coordinate geometry, plane geometry, and trigonometry. I worked twenty or thirty sample problems, and it was clear enough that I wouldn't have trouble working with a student on this material. (I have a master's in math and a lot of teaching experience.)
Differential Equations,

Differential Equations

Well, I took the course, of course. I never taught it, but I've tutored about half a dozen people through it. It's sort of the next course in the calculus sequence, after the courses that are actually called Calculus. So if your calculus background (derivatives and integrals) is decent then I can help you do well in differential equations.
Linear Algebra,

Linear Algebra

In college, I took the introductory linear algebra course and the course after that, which was for juniors, seniors, and grad students who were math majors. I've tutored two or three people who were taking the introductory course. Linear algebra is quite different from the courses that you're likely to have taken before it, so even if you're a strong math student, and you've been able to figure out previous math courses through your own efforts alone, you might find yourself needing some help in linear algebra, at least for a while. My work with you will probably be a matter of explaining the definitions and theorems and how they relate to working problems.

Excellent Tutor

He tutored me in a 5000 level math modeling course. He is very enthusiastic about the material and makes sure you understand each part completely before moving on to the next one.

Sarah, 2 lessons with Eric

Awesome

Eric helped me out a lot especially with understanding the theories behind the actual problems instead of just teaching the generic step by step method. Patient with you and will work with you till you get it. Highly recommend
