Approved subjects are in **bold**.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

I taught high school math for five years at a college preparatory school in Memphis, Tennessee. Subjects included Algebra I and II, Trigonometry, and Geometry. I have a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics (summa cum laude) from Christian Brothers University in Memphis, Tennessee.

I taught algebra and trigonometry for 5 years at Christian Brothers High School in Memphis, Tennessee. My students represented a broad range of skill levels. I was certified to teach mathematics in the state of Tennessee.

I taught, in particular, Algebra I, Geometry (Honors and standard), Algebra II and Trigonometry.

I taught Geometry to both honors level groups and regular classes for four years. I taught in a private college preparatory high school in Memphis, Tennessee. The full curriculum one would expect in such classes was included: from basic geometric axioms and definition, logical constructs, plane and solid geometry theorems and proofs.

I used Excel for over twenty years in business. Most of my activities involved downloading data files from legacy applications or databases to an Excel file, then creating one or more pivot tables over the Excel list. I also instructed other employees in the use of my pivot tables to enhance decision support.

For twenty years, I created PowerPoint presentations to inform upper level management and the company's board of directors about financial matters, business directions, and to persuade them to approve the purchase of a multimillion dollar computer system. My experience includes creating charts from Excel data, especially in selecting the best chart to provide the information. I used bullet point lists that are progressively revealed to keep audience from "reading" ahead and losing their attention.
