I know that every child can learn and be successful in life. My positive approach in teaching is a foundation to learning. As a special education teacher I am very familiar with all of the different ways each child learns. Information processing differs dramatically differs within a general education classroom. When I have a child who doesn't understand a concept, it means I have to explain the concept a different way.
I am fully trained in the Lindamood-Bell Seeing Stars (reading) and On Cloud Nine (math) programs. These programs are very specific to create connection of symbols (letters and numbers) to successfully be able to read, comprehend, math. I have various methods to teach word problems. The new state testing for math is all word problems.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I am a highly qualified special education teacher with cross categorical endorsement. I have a Masters degree in Special education. As a special education teacher the majority of my students have ADHD/ADD. I am very skilled in teaching students with this diagnosis.

Additionally, I am current teacher for Peoria Unified School District at Zuni Hills teaching Special Education Resource 6-8th.
I have a masters degree in Special Education Cross Categorical. Within the classes that I took, we focused on specific strategies for study skills. My certification in Special Education certifies me to teach Life Skills (courses in high school) that focus on organization, learning how to organize for projects and tests and overall skills. In addition, I have developed a program that I test students for their organizational (not learning) style and develop an organizational system that works for them.
