I have been a teacher in Alaska for the past several years. Before that I substituted for the district for about 8 years. I also have been tutoring in Alaska for the past 8 years. I consider myself a lifelong learner and help students fill the same. I have tutored many subjects: math, reading, writing, spelling, language arts, social studies, and science. I really enjoy teaching math and reading.
With every subject I have tutored, all of my students have become successful learners. Students who were not proficient in reading, improved their scores and became proficient or above proficiency by the end of the school year. They all improved each quarter. I tutor high school students in writing, math, and reading until they understand and became proficient in the subject. I continue tutoring these subjects until they pass their high school exit exam.
I have tutored many students in math such as: elementary math, differential equations, pre algebra, algebra 1, geometry, and SAT math until they understood each lesson and became proficient with it.
I enjoy helping students become successful lifelong learners. I really like tutoring students in areas that they need extra help in. I look forward to hearing from you. It will be a privilege to help your child/ren enjoy learning, become successful, and build confidence. I have been a teacher in Alaska for the past several years. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
