Coffee shops, grocery stores, and libraries are great places for lessons if you are not entirely comfortable going to the student’s home.
An adult should always be present for tutoring lessons if the student is under the age of eighteen.
Remember, the interview process goest both ways. You’re encouraged to ask prospective students and parents about themselves and even request references.
As an independent tutor, you are never obligated to accept a particular tutoring opportunity. If something about the opportunity doesn’t appeal to you, just wait for the next one.
Do not exchange personal contact information until you are completely comfortable and until the student has payment information on file with Wyzant.
