And she gave me vocabulary homework. We exchanged e-mail with each other before the first lesson, so she could prepare the first lesson for me. Every time she checked my needs for studying English, and then she prepared it for the next lesson. Even though I forgot it, she still remembers about my needs and requests. She has a lot of sources for teaching ESL; book, newspapers for ESL, internet sites, etc. I think she has lots of experience for teaching ESL. I really appreciate her. Thank you Meghan!
Hanna was one of the best ESL teachers we've ever known. I asked her to teach 3 teenage kids visiting Portland from Japan academic English skills, mainly reading and writing using the ESL textbook they had never used before. She spontaneously accepted our lesson-request. The lessons were more than we had expected. The kids who had had almost no speaking experiences actively participated in her lessons, tried to interact with her and learned so quickly some academic reading and writing skills.

A boring class has become so animated in her hands, and there is no way to not pay attention in class. When I first came to the local middle school, I had to take ESL just in the beginning of the school year, and with Susan's help, I got out of ESL just before term 2 started when most other students hadn't got out. Also, while Susan was tutoring me on English, my English grade went from B to A- only within three terms, and that is a hard thing to do on your own.
