I'm Jenness, and I am a Galveston Islander, Texan, Conservative, Proud American, Proud Mom and a Muse.

I've had a varied career spanning well over twenty years (though I'm only 39 *coughs*) and have a special love and devotion to helping others beat the odds and thrive. I work privately with individuals and small business owners and I love tutoring. I've found that academic tutoring is vaastly different than the type I provide. I'm currently in business and have current, real world experience. So if you are stuck in Excel and can't seem to understand why suddenly all your numbers are #### I know what you did, I've done it. I never judge, I just help you retain the knowledge you need in order to be successful.

I also happen to be an Epic Coach which is not just a fancy adjective but an actual designation which means that I have a network of some of the nation's most talented coaches & consultants as my colleagues. You aren't just getting one tutor but a team if I can't figure out a question or break through a block that is stopping your progress.

Accounting

I have over 20 years of small business accounting, tax preparation including skill as a full charge bookkeeper. I am adept at helping start-ups and businesses streamline their accounting process and make the most out of their systems in place to lessen their workflow and capture their deductions throughout the year.

Business

I work with start-ups, small business & solo physician practices currently and have for the last 20+ years. Business is such a large category that it is hard for me to expound upon a subject that is quite diverse. My specialty is helping businesses, individuals & solo practice physicians who are in crisis. There are many facets of business I do not work in, for example, legal aspects that require an attorney's advice, accounting advice not from a full charge bookkeeper (which I'm skilled) but a CPA, or industry specific consulting of advice such as OSHA or CLIA consulting which have their own subsets of expertise, though if I see a client who needs that I am happy to point them to the right professional who can more effectively handle that specialty.

Career Development

As a Coach & Consultant, even with small business owners who are in established businesses I help Coach & work with those who may have picked the wrong field. I use several tools to guide clients through the process of finding the right career path including testing and platforms such as Myers-Briggs. Most of the time, the client has a firm idea of which direction they want to go but need tweaking in terms of how to monetize their passion.

Grammar

I am a published Author, Live event speaker and have over 20 years of experience in copy, technical writer, sales & marketing written communication.

Part of my background is speaking to students and underprivileged youth about the power of speech, writing and communication in both business and personal life.

Graphic Design

Part of my job as Coach & Consultant is logo creation, advertising creation & design, marketing media creation & design. I have Adobe Master Collection CS6 on my computer now and also have experience in Corel, though I prefer Adobe for graphic design.

Marketing

I have over twenty years of sales and marketing management experience including experience in training telemarketers, appointment setters, customer service representatives, cold call marketing process, warm and hot lead marketing process, one-call closing, and tangible and intangible marketing . In addition to the actual scripts and in call presentations, I also am skilled and have taught marketing presentation material creation, design and implementation.

Microsoft Excel

I have been using and working with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access & Powerpoint since Microsoft's very first releases back in the 90's. I have owned every version of Microsoft Office and am extremely proficient in both practice and teaching. Back before automated online teaching products were available I helped train job seekers on these programs and would be more than happy to help anyone learn, brush up or become experts at these platforms. Which version I will teach depends upon the client.

Proofreading

I am a published Author, Live event speaker and have over 20 years of experience in copy, technical writer, sales & marketing written communication.

Part of my background is speaking to students and underprivileged youth about the power of speech, writing and communication in both business and personal life. Proofreading, especially in regards to resumes and business communication is a sub-specialty.

Public Speaking

I have over 20 years of public speaking and corporate training / HR events. My most recent engagements have been speeches given in December 2013 and January 2014 at St. Vincent's House Hope Academy & Galveston Community College.

I have also give smaller speaking engagements doing sales & marketing training to staff for clients.

QuickBooks

I have over 20 years of business accounting, including the accounting I do for my own firm. I use Quickbooks exclusively though I do have experience in my past with AccPac & Peachtree. I currently have Quickbooks 2013 Pro installed on my system and work with clients on everything from their general ledger to payroll using Quickbooks.

Reading

I am a published Author, Live event speaker and have over 20 years of experience in copy, technical writer, sales & marketing written communication. I also have a passion for reading and helping others see the joyful exchange of ideas, emotions, fantasies, thoughts and experiences that being able to read provides.

Speech

In my twenty years as a Coach & Consultant, a good amount of time when training Sales, Marketing & Customer service employees of clients is focused on speech. I work with clients and employees on their presence, stature, tone of voice, and other communication skills so that they are able to reflect and communicate in the manner that best suits them while still concisely and effectively relaying the required information to the other party or parties.

Tax Preparation

My job as a Coach and Consultant for small businesses & solo physician offices requires tax preparation skills.

My last client I successfully worked to lessen a 50k IRS debt by going back and resubmitting two years worth of taxes which had been done improperly. I was able to not only erase that debt but proved that my client had a carry back. This also allowed my client to release liens that had been placed on his property by the IRS. I did all the initial tax work and preparation and then submitted to a new accounting firm for help with the IRS forms involving unequal vehicle trades. I am not a CPA so there are tax forms and laws, especially dealing with complicated Trusts & Retirement accounts, that I would not tutor anyone with and would refer them to a CPA.

I will give group rates: 2 - $30 a client 3+ - $20 a client I will not discount past $30 due to the extra time and attention 4 or more tutoring clients require
