I specialize in mechanical engineering subjects such as structural analysis, dynamics, vibrations, fluid mechanics, and the mathematics needed to understand them (linear algebra, calculus, differential equations).

My tutoring style varies depending on what is effective and comfortable for each person, but the focus is always on building an "intuitive" understanding of physics - the kind of understanding that allows you to look at a problem and know "by inspection" what the solution (if it exists) should look like.

I teach by breaking complex ideas down into easy parts, and my explanations are rigorous without being pedantic. Instead of relying on brute-force algebraic manipulation to prove a point, I like to use simple arguments that you can understand with your background and everyday physical experiences.

I am a certified mechanical EIT with a SB in civil engineering and a minor in mathematics from MIT. I have eight years of experience as a private tutor, and some experience teaching high school math and science classes.
