This subject has remained dear to my heart. I've worked and taught people with ADD/ADHD. As I myself have had these learning symptoms, I know what it takes to help teach these people. It is my hope that we can unlock the potential of these people and perhaps turn these learning "disabilities" into learning advantages.
Business is my undergrad, and attending Latter Day Saint Business College I'm learning its unique aspects everyday I'm there. I in no doubt love this subject, especially when it comes to the roles of leadership and the positive actions it has on others. I was introduced to it upon reading "From Good to Great" there I learned how the smallest differences can mean everything in the long run. Again I love this subject and look forward to coming up with plans for fellow students to learn and grow in the area of knowledge.
Though grammar was not one of my strong points in school, it wasn't until learning a second language that made things clear. I'm not going to say learning a foreign tongue does make grammar easy, nor will I say it in tutoring other students but I just wish to share the things I've learned and expand their horizons in the wonderful and complex world of language. With selecting as a tutor you will discover vast amounts of information that made English the way it is today and how natives use it best.
Hard Of Hearing
During my mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints I worked with Hard of Hearing people, and I was also a companion for one person for a total of six months. In addition we served, communed with them, as well as the entire deaf community. They without a doubt hold a special place in my heart. I also have five years' experience with sign language.
This is definitely one of the easier programs to use for Microsoft office: it's straightforward, to the point, and can be one of the most fun things to use. However, I can see people's frustration in this program, I know what its like to struggle with computers and I hope to bring clarity to all of those who need help with this program.
In addition to my business major, thorough knowledge of programs we will be using out in the corporate field is crucial, primarily with Microsoft. I've taken entire technical courses where all we did for weeks was learn the various Microsoft computer programs. While this isn't the toughest subject in academics, I can understand a person's frustration in using technology, and it is my hope I can bring these complex terms into something more simple that every will look forward to using.
Though this was not my favorite subject in school. Recently it has become interesting to me. Much of it has to do with the simplicity of this subject. All too often even the teachers will explain things in the most complicated manner. However, I strive to do things different. I in no way am any smarter then most others in math, as Einstein says "I just simply stick to them longer." It is my hope as a tutor to embrace the fun and enjoyment of prealgebra as we review lessons and strive to improve grades. If you don't see improvement YOU DON'T PAY. That's my promise to you.
I have five years' experience, several hundred hours of ASL interpreting, knowledgeable of dialects and accents, and native-like skills.
I have translated in the business, religious, and education settings; in addition, I was assigned to work with deaf people and serve at the deaf institution in Fremont, CA. I labored and served there for nearly two years. I lived in deaf culture. There I learned its accents, dialects, and learned deep culture immersion through this beautiful language.
I, for one, love swimming, it's one of the best exercises we can do, and it's something you can do for the rest of your life for those that want a low-impact workout. My career in this sport has lead me to state as a top performer, and coaching-wise has brought several of my swimmers to state. I can promise you'll improve in your technique, learn about goal setting, and make the most out of this sport.
