I am a native Spanish speaker. I was born and raised in Panama City, Panama in a bilingual household. My high school and college education, although bilingual, was mostly in Spanish. I have two Masters degrees from the University of Southern California.
I love teaching Spanish, not only because I know the language but because I understand the culture. I enjoy being able to teach my language and my culture to students from all backgrounds. I always try to find the easiest ways to make my students understand the language by logic, historic facts, or relating the subject to popular culture. I've come to the conclusion that if students assimilate the new language with things they already are familiarized or interested it's easier for them to learn it.
As a high school and college student I tutored high school Spanish-speaking students with their English subjects, such as Biology and English Literature. Also, while attending law school I tutored Spanish-speaking law students with their Spanish law school subjects, such as Political Science, Criminal Law, and Procedural Law.
