Algebra 1

I teach Algebra 1 to high school and college students and enjoy helping my students overcome their fear of math. It's all about encouraging each student to build up his or her skills and gradually feel competent and confident.

Algebra 2

Algebra 2 is about solving for solutions to polynomial equations using factoring. It is mostly puzzle solving trying to figure out the way to reverse a FOIL calculation of simple polynomials. I put all the concepts for Algebra 2 on a single crib sheet and help you learn the sheet. My students find it to be actually simpler than Algebra 1, even fun if you like puzzles.

Geometry

Geometry is like playing pool without using English (spin). You just have to figure out how a ball will bounce off a cushion or off of another ball, what angle the balls will take and how hard to stroke the cue (to make the path lines longer). Prealgebra

Prealgebra helps you figure out tips, split a restaurant bill, estimate heights of buildings, calculate the mileage economy of your car, estimate growth rates from year to year, figure out the answer to money problems, plan your budget, estimate the relative amount saved on a sale price, and many more things. There are just a few concepts to learn and then the rest is applying those concepts. I put the concepts into a single page crib sheet and help you learn it.

Statistics

Statistics is a feared course in high school and college. But, it really is a simple extension of algebra and probability. There are about ten major concepts in descriptive statistics and 5 major concepts in inferential statistics to understand. I put these into a single page cribsheet each and help you get good at recognizing the research situation and applying the proper concept.

Probability

Probability can be tricky. But it is all about understanding the purpose of the calculation you are working on. Probability only has about a dozen concepts and then you just apply them to situations. I put the concepts on a single page cribsheet and help you master applying the concepts.
