Hi!
I'm an undergraduate Psychology major and a professional writing tutor in Stanford University's Hume Writing Center. I have a passion for teaching and I'd love to work with you!
Back in 6th grade when I was struggling miserably with math, I realized just how easy learning could become with a bit of help from a great "explainer." Over the past six years, I've enjoyed tackling academic challenges with my students, explaining everything from name-spelling at Bing Nursery School to thesis formation at Stanford. I love the shocked expression that flashes across the face of a student who finally understands a concept, the triumphant smile and the whispered "Ohhh...but that makes so much sense!"
I can help you to put your jumbled (but totally relevant!) thoughts on paper in a way that effectively portrays your ideas, whether it be in personal statement, research paper, picture book, rap song, or dissertation form. I can help you to transform your "just ok" resume into a standout one, to decipher the symbolism in your latest impossible AP Lit reading, or to catch the grammar errors your computer missed--before your teacher's ruthless red pen finds them. I can even help you boost that SAT score a few (hundred!) points.
Trust me: I know Algebra and Physics are not the only subjects that can be an epic struggle! Let me help you with the writing side of things. I promise it'll be (at least a little bit) fun!
And on another note, I can also teach you to play the saxophone.
