"'The Right Stuff' for youth (calm, low-key, unintimidating)"

I asked my math-blocked teen why she gets along with this tutor over our various attempts at prior instructors and her answer was an emphatic, "because he's chill." Translation? Skill sets are only part of the equation when it comes to tutoring kids, so the 'chemistry' of Jonathon's easygoing style, and ability to communicate concepts through different methods without sounding rigid or critical is key.

We also chose him for his overlap btwn math and science, as he has a robust command of both fields, but his focus on mastery of the material from specific school assignments keeps it relevant, and his recaps of the lessons help me keep abreast of what she's actually tackling. Her resistance to the subject (she feels inept from test scores and chasms in her algebra foundation) makes her a tough student to teach, and so far, Jonathon's been the best fit for us yet. Jonathon has shown a lot of flexibility in his schedule and very knowledgeable in the subject (Java). The first time we met him he was a bit late but understandable because of the commute. However, realizing he was, he volunteered the payment to be retroactive which was fair and much appreciated. He offered correspondence with my son even after the tutoring session. This shows that he really cares to help and is concern about the outcome of his teaching. He is very accessible. We feel that he relates well to my son being young himself but not to underestimate his ability and understanding on the subject. He is very patient and knows how to carry himself without sounding too forward. We would definitely recommend him 100%.

You can buy one of our standard 5, 10 or 15% packages or customize your own package based on how much tutoring you need. The credit you purchase can be used towards any tutor at any time and does not expire. If you do not use the entire package, we will simply deduct what you did spend on tutoring from your original purchase price and give you a refund. Discount packages start as low as $190.
