My 18 yr old son was having problems understanding concepts in his AP Physics class, so we chose Jeffrey to help him. Jeffrey is a great tutor. Not only is his Physics knowledge excellent (both my wife and I are engineers, so we can tell), but he has a great, patient manner with kids. My son sent us a thank you note for hiring Jeffrey! His grade has improved, and even more importantly, he now understands concepts he was missing, so college will be easier next year. Jeffrey did a great job not just helping him with problem sets, but also getting to the root of his difficulties. He reviews old tests, homework sets and has even followed up with extra material on his own.
Jeffrey is always on time, he follows up on communication quickly, and is very flexible. He meets with my son early mornings and weekends to accommodate sports schedules, etc.
I highly recommend Jeffrey as a knowledgeable, skilled tutor. We are very happy with him, as is my son.

Jeff was a great calculus tutor for me. I was really struggling in my class, but with his help, I was able to raise my grade. He was patient, gave good explanations, and taught in a way that effectively helped me learn. I could also tell he genuinely wanted to help me succeed. He would ask if I had any questions or if needed him to elaborate and he even took the time to extend the length of the session or send me emails explaining, step by step, how to solve a problem I didn't understand during the session. Jeffrey recently helped me with reviewing for my Pre Calculus final which I desperately was in need of passing in order to raise my grade. We started reviewing about a week before the final by going over problems that had given me trouble on previous tests and quizzes. He took the time to show me how to set it up and went over each problem in detail showing me where I made a mistake, after this he would show me short cuts or faster simpler ways of doing the problem. After going over it until I understood I would practice a few from the text book with his supervision and guidance if needed.
I'm very certain that I would not have received as good a grade as I did had I not gotten help from Jeffrey. His tutoring methods are outstanding; he doesn't just give you the answer. He shows you how and then makes you practice it until you no longer need his help. He emphasizes the concept of repetition so that you feel 100% about the topic.
I would highly recommend his services to anyone looking to improve their skills in mathematics or any of the other subjects tutored by Jeffrey.

Jeffrey M. tutored my son on Pre-Calculus this Spring Semester. He has good mastery of PreCal and has good patience to help my son with his difficulties/problems. Jeffrey is very responsible. He was always on time for the tutoring appointments. And should there be any problem/topics that Jeffrey could not figure out during the tutoring session, he promptly email us the solution/examples after the session. After tutoring help from Jeffrey, my son's PreCal grade improved one whole letter. I would not hesitate to have Jeffrey tutor my younger son next semester.

My son who is taking an advanced high-school calculus course needed some support for his studies, but I needed somebody who could work with my son at a pace appropriate for him. He also wanted a tutor with whom he could work on physics ideas and problems. I was not sure that I would be able to find the right person for my son. I even remember expressing my doubts to Jeffrey when we first started talking about setting up an initial appointment.
I need not have worried. Jeffrey has turned out to be just the right teacher for my son. He recognized my son’s need very quickly and has adjusted his pace accordingly. Jeffrey is acting as much as a mentor and my son likes working with Jeffrey.
Something else that makes it a pleasure for my son to work with Jeffrey is that Jeffrey is clearly very passionate about both physics and mathematics. His passion makes his sessions interesting as well as very useful.
Jeffrey seems to have an unusual talent for explaining complex concepts in a readily understandable format. I therefore would recommend him, without reservation, for anybody needing help with mathematics and/or physics.

I hired Jeffrey to tutor my daughter in Physics and I feel fortunate to have found him. I find Jeffrey to be personable, patient, soft-spoken (in a good way) and really wants my daughter to "get it." Though we have only had 3 sessions so far, my daughter tells me that she likes him (and I think it is very important that the tutee likes the tutor!), that she feels very comfortable saying she still wasn't understanding the problem and more than once, and that he is very patient. Jeffrey goes over the physics problem(s) several times showing my daughter how to do it and then making sure she can illustrate the same work/process in a similar problem. My daughter tells me that the repetition of her doing the problem with him has helped her to be more confident in the subject because she is understanding it better by doing it. Sometimes I wish we had an hour and a half with him, which can likely be scheduled, because that little bit of extra time would perhaps make for an even more thorough lesson. After every lesson, Jeffrey emails me a paragraph summary of what they went though with some helpful reminders for my daughter from the lesson. I forward them all to her so she can keep them and refer back to them. After our last session, Jeffrey also emailed us an additional physics problem for her to work on, with explanations and rationale and his openness for her tom call him to discuss the problem on the phone or to save the discussion for the next session. I would highly recommend Jeffrey if your child needs a tutor in physics or another area he specializes in; I think you will find that he truly is all that I describe above. As a side note, he is on-time and responds to emails quickly.
