Hi, my name is Azeem and I have a passion for teaching science, math and English. I have a PhD in microbiology, genetics and molecular biology from Columbia University. An important component of PhD training is teaching, both in the classroom and in the laboratory. I have thoroughly enjoyed the opportunities to teach and am looking forward to teaching you!
My primary teaching subjects include biology, mathematics, introductory chemistry and English. I recently taught a molecular biology lecture and laboratory course for an algae biofuels certificate program at UC San Diego, which prepares individuals for a career transition into the biofuels sector. I have also been a teaching assistant for a wide variety of math and biology classes since I was in college. The math classes that I have assisted teaching or have been a grader for include algebra, calculus and differential equations. I have also worked as a professional copy editor, editing scientific manuscripts for language, grammar, clarity and content. Consequently, I have considerable reading, writing and editing experience.
I have enjoyed all of my teaching experiences and continue to have a passion for teaching students of all ages and capabilities. My greatest teaching strength is my enthusiasm for learning which I hope to pass on to you. If you require extra help with biology, chemistry, English or math, please feel free to get in touch with me and I will be happy to assist you.
