I am a retired teacher, wanting to get back to helping students. I was always considered an excellent and patient teacher, receiving an award for Excellence. I taught Physics and Math. I start with a review of your interests (to relate physics and math to what you already know and like) and math skills. I advise students that they already know a lot of physics and math, or they could not function day to day. I try to build on that knowledge. I provide worksheets and bring a physics demonstration kit and math manipulatives to show concepts in action. Most students do not learn physics or math (and most things) well by just being told, some learn by seeing and some learn by doing. I try to learn what works for you. I have tutored hundreds of students. I want to understand your class and want to see your text, any workbooks, outlines and assignments. For each session it is important that you select 2 to 4 items where you need help. I try to end each session with a short discussion of what will be covered next in your class. I usually work with Alg I courses and intro algebra based physics courses.
