Nelly Is a sweet and patient tutor who can help you become more in-depth with the language of Spanish. Being that she grew up with the language, you don't have to worry if she corrects you: she KNOWS and LIVES the language. A fluent Spanish teacher helps you get in tune with the everyday conversation of Spanish. In terms of personality, she's a sweetheart! She never intimidates, but she'll let you know if you've done something wrong and insists that you correct on it. She'll works with you on the many different grammatical, vocal and situational aspects of the language. My advice is that when you have Nelly as your tutor, let her know what your ultimate goal is and what kind of plan you want to complete with her; that way she'll work with you on those goals and she'll know what to expect from you. Plus, she's a passionate artist and she'll even give your art lessons! Overall, a great tutor and a tender heart of a compassionate teacher, or en español, "una buena maestra"!

Nelly is a very patient, creative and approachable teacher. She spends time explaining the reasons behind language conventions as well as perfecting pronunciation. She puts heavy focus on writing - which is extremely helpful in seeing the practical application of the language. Nelly's friendly personality and demeanor is enjoyable and makes learning Spanish fun.

I can not say enough good things about Nelly. I contacted her because I was struggling in basic college Spanish and she quickly got back to me. We met and ever since then Spanish has gone much more smoothly. I got a 73 percent on my first test before meeting Nelly. After meeting up with her several times I got a 85 percent. She is patient, funny, and just a overall nice person! I would highly suggest Nelly to anyone struggling with Spanish or just wanting to improve.

My daughter is 2nd year High School Spanish student and after 5 lessons with Nelly - she went form feeling uneasy about her Spanish class to feeling totally on top of the course. Nelly of course will help her achieve way more fluency than the normal High School class can offer.
Although we have only had 2 lessons from Nelly - it seems like she is hitting a "home run" in teaching what is needed and then taking it further. You should not hesitate to give Nelly a try. She is professional, her language is native, she knows how to connect with students, she is easy to reach - what more could you want?

I can't believe my good luck to have found Nelly as my tutor. I am getting ready for a business trip to Peru, and I wouldn't feel nearly as confident if it weren't for my sessions with Nelly. She is incredibly knowledgeable about the language, as well as the culture which is a significant added benefit for me. Not only do we cover a lot of educational ground in our lessons, but they are fun, too. Nelly is a warm and intelligent person who clearly cares about her students' success. I am taking a Spanish class in collage. In my desperate need of confusion I came across this great tutor Nelly. In a matter of 2 days (4.5 hours) she was able to help me understand what my professor has been trying to teach me for the past 2 weeks. She has the gift of explaining in a way that the student understands and is able to be confident to move on to the next lesson. There is a difference between memorizing and understanding, she is a strong believer that when you understand you will never forget. Nelly is professional and performs her job 100%. So far I've had two 2 hour sessions with Nelly and have learned and re-learned a good amount in just two sessions. She has so far helped me unlock the "clues" to the Spanish language. She is professional, patient, and an actual native speaker. I only say that because there are many Spanish tutors who don't speak it on a daily basis and I wanted a tutor who did. I will give her 5 stars once I start speaking fluently.

Nelly has really worked well with my daughter. Her scores started from a average B but she was confused with the grammar. Nelly really worked on her with the grammer and did not move ahead until she knew that my kid was strong and understood the topic well. It is important to find a teacher who will motivate your kid to do their best, to try to achieve the best that they can. The proof is there and my daughter ended up with a 100% in the Spanish Honors class which is a very big improvement. I know her foundation is strong and it will surely help her in preparing for Spanish AP.
