general computer
I have worked in the computer industry for more than 20 years. Although I am currently most proficient with mainstream software (such as Microsoft Office products) I have programmed in artificial intelligence and worked for seven years as a contractor with the Hewlett-packard company to build the defect tracking software considered mission critical to the manufacture and deployment of their All-In-One printers.
study skills
I have a Ph.D. with majors in two scientific fields and minors in two other fields. I was on the Dean's list throughout all of my college education and earned a 4.0 during my work for my Ph.D. I have an extensive teaching experience - mainly to non-science majors. I learned through my educational endeavors how to study in a way that allowed me to do well and believe I can teach you those same skills.
I believe in making learning fun because I have found that students learn more and faster when they are relaxed and enjoying the process of learning. I believe I can help you out with your study skills.
zoology
I have a Ph.D. in Zoology/Biology and worked as a research scientist at the University of California's Scripps Institution of Oceanography. I have many years of teaching experience, especially to the non-science major and enjoy making the learning process fun because I find that students learn more and faster when they are relaxed. I have several published books and more than 50 published papers - many written for the non-scientist.
cooking
I have taken numerous cooking/culinary arts courses and won a contest in San Diego judged by major hotels (Hyatt, Hilton, etc.) for my Bouillabaisse - a French fish soup that is tomato-based and flavored with fennel, saffron and a variety of other herbs and spices.
I have a passion for cooking and would like to share my experience with others.
