Brandon's Experience:
drums
|
Since sixth grade, I have been learning the skills and coordination that it takes to be a drummer/percussionist. From snare drum to xylophone to the trap set, I have a passion for all instruments in the percussion and drum family. Throughout junior high, I was first chair percussionist and in high school I played in the concert and marching band as well as several percussion and drum ensembles. Throughout high school I have continued to take music classes to further my knowledge and education to better my musicianship.

guitar
|
Since recieving my first guitar at age nine, I have not stopped learning the beautiful art of guitar and loving every moment of it. From private lessons to school jazz band to simpy teaching myself what I can, I have always searched for ways to expand my knowledge and skills. In junior high school I was first chair guitarist for all three years in the jazz band. In high school I have taken several music classes to continue honing my skills and musicianship. Now, I am the head band director for the youth at my church. My love for this instrument encompasses the natural sound of the acoustic, the rockin' electric, and the thumpin' bass. I enjoy playing many genres, from rock to country to jazz. I am looking to teach and tutor young beginners who are excited to learn the art of the guitar.

piano
|
For young ones who are looking to begin playing piano, I am your match for a tutor. I am a percussion enthusiast, and since the piano is a part of the percussion family, learning the art of it was a task I gave myself a couple years ago. I have taken several keyboard classes in school since grade six and I am currently in an advanced placement piano class at my high school. I believe that to play any instrument well, you must also have knowledge of basic music theory as well, which I have been studying for the past three years. Piano is a great way to dive into the wonderful world of music and I look forward to tutoring young ones and opening their eyes to the fun and exciting things piano has to offer.

Student Reviews:
Great with kids!
My son, who is 6, has learned so much from Brandon in just a few months time. The most important thing he has learned is a love of music! I rarely have to remind him to practice. He practices on his own because he's always eager to show Brandon (and the rest of us!) what he has mastered in the time between lessons.
Brandon is unfailingly patient, even with an easily distracted 6 year old. He always has his lessons planned out and sends us home with practice pages every lesson. He's always pleasant to work with.
I definitely recommend Brandon as an excellent tutor for children. We choose to drive an hour and a half round trip for each lesson because we think he's worth it!
