Currently an e-Commerce Specialist working with a major utility, I have over 16 years experience in design (both graphic and web) within a Marketing environment. I also teach seniors how to live a more complete life by introducing them to the freedom computers and the Internet can offer them. I am a mother of three active children and live in a wonderful community outside of Birmingham, Alabama, where I am also active on the Board of Directors for a small medical non-profit group. In my spare time, I love to play with my children, read, paint and design other types of artwork. My teaching style is absolutely hands-on. I go at your own pace and teach you only what you want to know. All lessons are custom prepared with your desires in mind.   I knew early on in high school that the outlet for my creative talents would come in some kind of electronic form. Everything that had anything to do with computers came naturally to me. I could pick up a program (any program) in a matter of minutes. What's more, I was hardly ever satisfied with only using a program as it was designed. Once I mastered a piece of software, I stretched its limits. It wasn't long before I fell into a tutoring position. Teachers, bosses and co-workers come to me when they need help. About two years ago, I took some time off to raise my newborn. My contacts followed me and before I knew it, I was teaching seniors to use their computers. Teaching others to use technology is my passion. Discovering potential in others in what I do best.

  I was introduced to PowerPoint 10 years ago as a tool our marketing department used to create presentations. Within hours, I was creating my own templates and backgrounds. I was using drawing tools to draw my own org charts when the basic charts weren't good enough. I was adding music, images, charts and graphs. I was breaking the mold of the stale and stuffy presentation and producing dynamic slides that had the look and feel of videos. I now use PowerPont tremendously in the creation of my online presentations. I specialize in online media and PowerPoint is one of the easiest tools I use.

  I have played the trumpet since 1986 - over twenty years! I was first chair in my high school marching band and now work with my son on a daily basis, teaching him how to master it. Making music to me is more than a hobby, it is a outlet for my artistic expressions. I can take almost any piece of music and convert it to music for the trumpet. I love to write my own songs as well.

  I have over 6 years of experience creating websites. I was project lead for the Birmingham Web Project, a group of volunteer web designers for local non-profits. I specialize in eCommerce. I am taking college courses in Interactive Media and Web Design, despite the fact that I am currently employed as an eBusiness Specialist. I feel that by receiving my degree, I will be able to advance more quickly.
