About
Nassim: |
|
Throughout my educational career I have developed an interest in helping others and an even deeper interest in discussing and explaining all that I know about science. Though I may not have any professional training in regards to teaching, I have never been hesitant to offer my knowledge of science to others; whether it be fellow students or anyone who wants to know just what "negative pressure breathing" means. Having finished my undergraduate in December 2006, I have taken up two jobs in Indianapolis in the fields of Healthcare and research to allow myself the opportunity to use the knowledge I have obtained in the best way possible, but still not having the chance to teach. With that major entity not being fulfilled, I am now currently offering my services as a tutor in the fields I have marked. The degree I received may have specialized in biology, it does not mean I have not been educated in the other sciences. I have taken several courses in chemistry, organic chemistry and physics to have competent knowledge of these areas in order to help teach others who may have difficulty in understanding these subjects. My undergraduate gpa may seem low, but rest assured that this by no means is a reflection of myself, as it was minor issues that I was dealing with in my freshman and sophomore years that caused this. If one were to look at my final two years at my institution, they would find a remarkable upward trend in grades received, especially graduate level courses.
Education/Courses:
General Chemistry (with lab)
Organic Chemistry (with lab)
Biochemistry
Physics (Mechanical-Heat-Sound, Light-Electrical-Magnetic ) (with lab)
Molecular Genetics (with lab)
Systems and Integrative Physiology
Endocrinology
Cell Membrane Physiology
Microbiology (with lab)
In regards to my teaching style; I have not developed a concrete teaching style, but I have developed a successful understanding of how to explain some of the most difficult concepts in the sciences. With further teaching, I am confident I will develop a style suitable for successfully becoming a professional tutor. |
