elementary (k-6th) My name is Maria Laura Prieto. I am currently enrolled in Texas Woman’s University. I am a junior student working on my Child Development bachelor and I am looking for a job position that would allow me to work with children as their tutor, while finishing my degree. I am also currently working with a 4 year old child. I tutor him and work with pre-determined goals for him in areas of social, physical, and cognitive development. References Upon Request I had the opportunity to work with children of all ages during my high school years. Before I graduated from high school with a 4.0 GPA, I received a career passport competency in Early Childhood Education. I have done volunteer work in different public institutions in Austin Texas and in the city of McKinney I worked with first and second graders. I was also a leader in the Awana club in the city of Fairview and worked with 5 year old children. I am looking forward to always gain more knowledge about children while seeking a career in the family sciences area in the state of Texas, which will allow me to continue working with children and adults in many different ways. In addition of my experience, I am a fast learner and I have excellent communication skills. I always maintain a mature, gracious, and professional manner when communicating with people. When difficulties arise, I try to maintain the same mature manner and solve the problem in a positive way. I hope you will find that I am qualified for the position you are trying to fill. ESL/ESOL I was an ESL Student for 3 years once and I feel I can truly help other ESL students because I know about the frustration they can feel sometimes and how difficult it can be to study and understand everything. I know I can encourage student to do their best because sometimes it only takes that extra from someone else to make the student believe they can do it...
