Hi! My name is Katie, and I teach seventh grade humanities in East Harlem. I graduated from Princeton University with high honors, was the valedictorian of my high school, and got perfect 800's on my SAT math and verbal sections. At Princeton, I studied mechanical engineering before I switched to art history. I have tutored elementary school students, taught an SAT prep class and helped adults prepare for the GED. Working with students of all different ages and ability levels has helped me learn many strategies for teaching. I am always friendly, engaging and well prepared, and I look forward to meeting you!

elementary (k-6th)

I currently teach fifth grade English, social studies and study skills in East Harlem. I have also tutored younger students extensively, ran a tutoring group for 3rd through 5th graders, and done art therapy with pre-schoolers and kindergartners. I have spent a lot of time volunteering at Head Start, and in gaining this experience have learned how to address both behavioral and academic needs of elementary and pre-K students.
