I am able to teach or tutor a number of subjects. I have a B.A. in Economics and Philosophy from Western Kentucky University, an M.S. in International Relations from Troy State University, and an A.A.S. from the Community College of the Air Force in Information Systems Management. I was a computer programming instructor in the U.S. Air Force for two years. I have also taught in two charter schools in Texas. The subjects I taught in those classroom settings included seventh and eighth grade science, biology, chemistry, computer technology, U.S. history, world geography, economics, American government, and current trends. I have also tutored students in math at the elementary through the high school levels. I am capable of tutoring reading and test taking as well as the subjects already mentioned. I enjoy sharing information with people, but I employ a teaching style where the student(s) tell me what the answers are, because I believe that style best promotes learning. |

I am experienced in economics in that it was the major subject for my Bachelor of Arts degree. I averaged 3.4 on a 4-point scale for the 10 courses I took in this subject. These courses included principles of both micro- and macroeconomics (one course of each), micro- and macroeconomic theory (one of each), Money and Banking, Urban and Regional Economics, Statistics, Statistical Analysis, Introduction to Econometrics, and the History of Economic Thought. I also have taken a graduate level course in Mathematical Economics, graduate courses in Theory of Statistics and Statistical Methods, and a graduate course in social science research methods. I am comfortable tutoring economics up through the 12th grade level.
