I have over 30 years of professional playing and teaching experience. My teaching experience includes schools and libraries throughout Southern California, as well as private and group instruction of all ages. I play and teach all styles, and customize tutoring to each individual's needs.

My teaching includes developing and tutoring music education workshops and programs for all ages at schools and libraries throughout Southern California. I began performing at age 6, and have not stopped since. I enjoy using my real-life performance and recording experience to help students achieve their musical goals. (See my partial credit list at the end). I teach many different styles of music, including rock, country, folk, jazz, blues, pop, R&B and classical. Techniques that are specific to bass include thumb-slap bass, 2-finger, pick-bass, syncing to drums (both live and programmed), octaves, and acoustic bass guitar. I like to incorporate a good foundation of music theory and sight-reading, as well as popular notations such as tablature and number system shorthand. I can also include improvisation, transcription, and programming for drum machines, synthesizers, and keyboards (analog and digital). My credits include: Los Angeles Times-featured instructor/co-writer/producer/performer of original music educational programs and hands-on workshops presented throughout California schools and libraries, as well as LA Cultural Affairs/Day at the Park, LA Summer Reading Program, Metropolitan Cooperative Library System, Alternative Recreation Program, LA Department of Parks and Recreation ... Techniques that are specific to guitar include slide, alternative and open tunings, fingerpicking, flatpicking, strumming, metal picking, guitar amps and effects, bow, Hawaiian slack key, Celtic, western, 7-string, acoustic, electric, 12-string, double neck, baritone, and guitar synthesizer. I like to incorporate a good foundation of music theory and sight-reading, as well as popular notations such as tablature and number system shorthand. I can also include improvisation, transcription, and programming for drum machines, synthesizers, and keyboards (analog and digital). I continue to further my own musical knowledge, and play several other instruments, such as dulcimer, mandolin, banjo, ukulele, bowed psaltery, bodhran, djembe, and keyboards.
