About
Leah:
Nothing can easy to me. I've been a hard worker all of my life and saw the benefits of it recently. I won 4 Honorable Mention Awards in 2005 with Scholastic Achievement being one for earning a 3.0 in college during my last semester while in summer school after not attending for 9 years. I can be viewed as a late bloomer for not achieving this success earlier in my studies like the young people, but I don't care. I am grateful to have those experiences and the opportunity to help others regardless of their age in pursuing their educational goals.
More On
Leah's Subjects:
business
I have taken the following courses toward my earned B.S. in accounting at Chicago State University and earned at least a 3.0 for each course: Business Writing, Pre-Calculus 2,Statistics Inf Sys, Basic Calculus,Into to Finite math, Principles of Mgmt, Principles of Mktg, International and Comp Mgmt, Cost Accounting, Product Mgmt,Business Policies & Strategy, Intermediate Accounting 1, Federal Income Tax,Microcomputer Applications Business(INSY), and Advanced Accounting. I also had a few customers of my own in the sewing/alteration field and worked with 3 ladies over several years who had their own business.
elementary (k-6th)
I have taught during the 1995-96 school year at Liberty Academy the following grades: Mixed high school business classes, 8th grade, 6th grade one school term, 5th grade the next term, and assisted the Kindergarten teacher during the last term.
I was a substitute teacher for Chicago Public Schools for all elementary grade levels for 1.3 years.
GED
I went to the Illinois State Board of Education and acquired the Math Standards for Goals 6,7,8,9,& 10 for Grades 3-High School, the objectives of each standard, the tests, and the answers. I have in-depth knowledge for each and access to GED workbooks which parallels with the standards.
sewing
My mother and sister taught me how to sew in 8th grade or after during the summer prior to my freshman year in high school.By the summer of my junior year as I was going into senior year, I went to Jerome Fabrics for sewing lessons under the guidance of a lady named Joanie.Years later I bought a book about making your own patterns and was sent a pattern drafting book by my sister who attended a patternmaking class at Vogue.Today I can sew from commercial patterns, make my own and sew without a pattern. I design most of my wardrobe, make household items and had and have clients eho request alterations. I have my own business id number.
study skills
In my library is a book on thinking and studying skills for college which I used to study my subjects for my last credit hours to earn a B.S. I increased my grades from the beginning of the summer session from a D or F to an A on both finals. After not being in school for 9 years and receiving the required books later than the 1st and 2nd weeks of school,I say I did an excellent job averaging the final semester gpa with a 3.0. The prior terms of school before the big break ended with a 2.41 gpa.To request transcripts contact CSU or myself.
