elementary (k-6th)
I have three Bachelor's degrees. Even though elementary school was a long time ago I was always at the top of my class. I was even eligible to skip a grade but my parents didn't want me to because I was already young for my grade. I knew how to read before I went to Kindergarten. I was one of the top readers in my elementary school. In high school I received awards in various subjects from social studies to biology. I have always been a well rounded student.
general computer
I got an A in my general computer class in college. It covered Excel, Word and HTML. I am on the computer everyday. I started using a computer in Kindergarten. I was always the one in my family to try to fix any problems with the computer and I am still the one to do so today. I have always thought that computers are easy because they practically give you the answers when you are unsure of how to do something.
swimming
I have been swimming since I was two years old. I started swimming competitively when I was 8. I swam all through high school even though my school did not have a team. I swam independently and my dad was my coach.
When I was younger I used to go to swim camp at Ball State and I was always told that all of my stroke techniques where excellent.
I started teaching swimming lessons when I was 19. I taught for three years. I have taught ages 4-16. I used to be WSI certified as a swimming instructor. I was also a lifeguard for five years.
Adobe Photoshop
I use Photoshop regularly. I started using Photshop when I went to the Art Institute. Most of my projects required using Photoshop. I had to create things by hand or in Illustrator and then place them in photshop all the time. I know how to change the levels and opacities. I am familiar with most all of the tools. I have Photoshop on my home computer.
My first project in my graphic design class in college was to make something in Illustrator, bring it into Photoshop and then in to Quark. I had never used any of these programs before and I got a B.
I am very comfortable working with layers. I have created screen prints in Photoshop when I worked for Fred Meyer.
sewing
I started sewing when I was in junior high school. I was good at it but I didn't really get into it until I went to the Art Institute to get my degree in Apparel Design. I took three sewing classes and got an A- in them. I have also sewn for many other classes from knits and lingerie to sewing my senior collection, which consisted of 10 garments. I can create my own patterns as well.
I have no doubt in my sewing abilities. I have even completed a couture dress sewing mostly by hand. I am more than comfortable with both machine and hand sewing. I have my own sewing machine. I can also thread and use a serger, a blind hem machine, and a coverstich machine.
drawing
I have been drawing for as long as I can remember. I took art all through high school and even got an award my senior year. I took three drawing courses in college and got A's in all the classes. I could submit work if anyone wants to see it.
