piano Music is a major part of my life. So is teaching. I have been playing the piano for 47 years. As a child, I studied for 10 years with woman who was a concert pianist, trained at Julliard. I am trained as a classical pianist. However, I but am well versed in many types of music and able to teach modern as well as classical. When I attended Ritgers University, I continued to study piano in their music program. I also studied Advance Piano for a year with Rick Fortney, Executive Director of True North Performing Arts Group, Avon Lake, OH I have taught piano for 10 years. I play at functions professionally.I've played since high school for choirs and churces off and on. I took a break for a few years but could not stay away. I am starting a summer program and have openngs now for students. Students learn to play songs as they read the music and understand finger placement and posture. I also teach theory as part of the curriculum. I also study voice with Amy Hall at Beck Institute. I am a member of True North Performing Arts, Avon Lake, OH, Division of Lorain County Metroparks at French Creek. Sheffield, OH. I teach at Lorain County Community College. Currently I have a small baby grand piano that children love to play. It is tuned an ready for their little fingers. I love to teach children. Most do well at 6 years old to start. I have taught 5 year olds with developed fine motor skills who are able to sit still for a 1/2 hour. I teach a wide range of beginners through Advanced Intermediate. I use the Leonard Series but am flexible and can use the books your children use. I also teach adults. As I say to all my students, you're good and you're getting better!!
