composition (music) I have had relevant experience in this subject by composing in high school and college courses, as well as composing in and for bands in the Milwaukee area. I was a session musician for Baleful records for a year, most of which was composing parts for different metal bands. I have a wide range of musical experience, and proof to any student who inquires via the internet. ear training I have had ear training from several piano teachers, and I have done two years of dictation for other educators. I have been taking lessons with the piano tuner's guild for a year as well. GED I graduated high school, admittedly, not with the highest GPA, I was not a member of any honor societies, and I was not a member of any scholar clubs, but everything that I have learned in high school has stayed with me, and I can explain any of it to any student who inquires. general music Because of my vast experience in the music field, and the connections that I have made in my musical journeys, I feel as though I can show a broad overview of music to any student who needs help in his or her class. music history I have had two years of music history, and I continue to further my knowledge by reading anything on music history I can get my hands on. I have a vast knowledge on how musical styles came into being, from Gregorian chant to Jazz, all the way through hip-hop and heavy metal. music theory Because of my previous theory classes, and my experience applying it to different songwriting and solo projects, I feel I can tutor any student in music theory from the beginner level through the intermediate level. piano I have been playing, composing, and working in and around pianos for 10+ years. I feel that because of this, I am more than qualified to tutor piano students from the beginner to the advanced intermediate level. songwriting I have been playing in, composing, and competing with bands for the past six years. I have been recording with a band with some recognition in Europe, and have written songs with members of Kamelot and Queensriche.
