Currently I'm the director of sales for Organic Motion, technology start-up in midtown that for the sake of brevity-- is slow to start up. As a result, I'm looking for night/weekend work.
The most relevant teaching experience I have is from when I studied and lived St. Petersburg, Russia . I taught English classes to advanced students twice a week, everything from music history to writing, and tutored individual students in either Russian or English depending on their skill level. I enjoyed the work and decided then if I ever needed additional income to work as a tutor.
I graduated from the University of Southern California with a double major in Political Science and Russian. My academic strengths are in the liberal arts: history, literature, writing, international affairs, and government. I could also teach Russian language as well, though I can't imagine many are learning Russian as a 2nd language.
The only other piece of information I'd like to leave you with is that I'd be particularly helpful for students dealing with dyslexia and/or ADD/ADHD. School was initially very difficult for me because of these disorders, but in hindsight I'm actually thankful for having the struggles to work through and it'd be a pleasure to help someone else through them.
Teaching is not only something I'd do pretty well, it's work I'd enjoy. My availability for tutoring would have to be after 7pm during the week or anytime during the weekend.
Regards,
Dylan
