I have experience in the IT industry as an IT Specialist for a software company in Northern Virgina. I am interested in teaching people how technology works and how they can get computers to work for them. I also enjoy fixing IT issues and learning new ideas and ways to work with computers. I have an A.A.S. in computer science/networking and I am continuing my education so I can teach computer science in the classroom. Since I am a hands on learner, this is the way I like to teach. I feel you can learn more sitting in front of a PC then reading about it in a book. I have experience in PC hardware and software troubleshooting, Windows XP and Vista, Home or office network troubleshooting and VoIP phones. I am an upbeat person who thinks positively and knows how to communicate IT talk to normal English so the average user can understand and then apply. I have worked as an IT Specialist for a leading software company for over a year. I was in charge of maintaining and troubleshooting all office Windows XP and Vista PC's, laptops and printers as well as Windows server 2003 and CentOS Linux server staging, VoIP network and Cisco IP and ATA phones, new employee IT training, IT department hardware and software ordering, software and hardware inventory, Twiki intranet administration, Qmail email administration, web browsers IE 7 and Firefox troubleshooting, Cat5 cabling and CRM applications such as connect care and sugar. I also have experience is virus or worm removal, PC recovery and driver installations and troubleshooting for PC hardware.
