 About Lisa:
I have over ten years of experience as a tutor of students with dyslexia and have a Masters of Arts in special education for mild disabilities. My name is Lisa Boyles and I look forward to working with your child as a student of mine. I have used the Orton-Gillingham approach to tutor students aged 8-36 for years. I also successfully applied the principles of the Reading First program with students in K-3 for two years working in a public school here in Indianapolis. I have created subject specific remediation based on the students needs for middle and high school students. My main strength is reading remediation for 3rd-6th graders, but I have many strengths and can work with all ages and many different abilities of students. So, I look forward to hearing from you.

Learn More About Lisa's Experience:
elementary (k-6th)
I am ready to work with your K-6 student. I am especially competent in developing reading skills in phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension. I can work with a wide variety of curriculum to support student problem solving and learning initiative. I've worked as a gallery educator at the Children's Museum of Indianapolis, a student teacher in IPS, a substitute teacher in many districts, a preschool supervisor and lead teacher, and a key team member in the Reading First program for K-3. I have completed two masters programs in education, one focused on curriculum development and the other focused on mild disabilities with certification in K-6 in Indiana. Please see my credentials under phonics and special needs for more about my preparation to tutor your K-6 student. I look forward to serving you through meeting the needs and developing the strengths of your child.
track & field
I ran cross country and did track in High School my sophmore, junior, and senior years. I lettered for varsity all six seasons. I ran 800 and 1600 individually in track and also ran legs of relay races when the team needed help. I have run the Mini Marathon (13.1 miles) two times. I run 5K races on a regular basis and upkeep a training schedule for fun and wellness as running is my chosen life-long sport. I have trained with students to run specific races in the past and advised them on training, eating, and stretches to help them do their best.
