As a doctoral student in cello performance, I have extensive experience in all aspects of music. I have been a private cello, piano, and theory teacher for fifteen years. I am being Suzuki certified, and teach for the UT String Project in Austin under Dr. Laurie Scott. Part of this job includes teaching group theory, and I also direct the high school cello choir. I have passed Indiana University's and the University of Texas' rigorous theory and history exemption exams, and tutored undergraduates for their theory and history courses. In both music and English, I teach in a variety of styles, and strive to match my teaching style to each particular student. I currently have Autistic, ADD, and Downs students, and am comfortable teaching any person, regardless of age or level. While I am a patient instructor, I have high expectations for my students and am adept at helping them achieve their goals.

  I am a doctoral student in cello performance. I began playing cello at the age of ten, and from that point continued in my native Bozeman, MT, to play with the local symphony, opera, and in various ensembles. I finished my undergraduate and masters work in music at Indiana University in Bloomington, under Tsuyoshi Tsutsumi, Emilio Colon, and Janos Starker. I am currently studying with Bion Tsang at the University of Texas at Austin, teach eight cellists and group theory class for the UT String Project, and have several other private students, from the ages of four to sixty. I am being certified in the Suzuki method, and also teach Feldenkrais influenced movement techniques.

  As a doctoral student in music, and a music educator for the last fifteen years, I am highly trained in general music appreciation. I work with students who range in experience from none to a high amount, and am proficient at introducing concepts and creating enjoyable learning experiences for all levels. My instruments are cello, piano, voice, and violin, and I began studying music at the age of four. I am being certified in the Suzuki method.

  I am a doctoral student in music, and have had eight years now of intensive history and theory classes. They have ranged from general overviews to specific studies of concerti, various composers, each specific century, and symphonies. I have passed out of the required graduate history classes at UT, and have tutored several high school and undergraduate students in the field.

  As a doctoral student in music, I am proficient at all areas of music theory. I passed out of the mandatory set of classes at UT for my doctoral program, and currently tutor theory undergraduate students. I also teach a group theory class for the UT String Project. I have been studying and teaching the subject for ten years.

  I began studying the piano at the age of four, and continued taking lessons through my graduate studies in music, at Indiana University in Bloomington. I passed my piano proficiencies and out of all piano classes. I currently accompany all of my cello students, and teach eighteen private piano students. I am currently working on my doctorate in music, and am being certified in the Suzuki method.
