violin
I've played the violin for 13 years. In that time, I've largely received classical training, but have also studied music in India and studied fiddle for a short time. I have a minor degree in violin performance from Miami University of Ohio and currently perform with the Evanston Symphony Orchestra.
Following is some of my performance experience:
Evanston Symphony Orchestra, 2007
Junior & Senior Violin Recitals, MU, 2006 & 2007
Morpheus Chamber Orchestra, conductor-less ensemble, 2006
Quartet study and performance, MU, 2005 & 2006
MU Symphony Orchestra, 2003-05
Global Rhythms, violinist, 2003-05
MU Opera Orchestra, the Marriage of Figaro, 2005
Contemporary Youth Orchestra, 2002-04
Ohio All-State and NE Regional Orchestras, 2001-03
Mentor Mannheim Chamber Orchestra, 2000 - 2003
Mentor High School Distinguished Quartet, 2001-03
I've been playing with larger ensembles for the past 10 years, chamber ensembles for 6, and have been performing solo for about 10 years as well.
I tutored a couple of violin students through high school (beginner and intermediate), have not been able to while at university, and would like to begin teaching again. I am able to teach both children and adults (ages 5 and up), and can teach beginner through advanced lessons.
