I've been playing the violin for 14 years. I'm classically trained, but have also had some fiddle training and have spent a summer in India studying music, too. I studied and performed at Miami University in Ohio, where I earned a minor in Violin Performance, and I now perform with the Evanston Symphony Orchestra. I believe in creating a musical foundation of classical performance and technique, but am always excited to support students who are interested in branching out to other styles, too. I believe in meeting a student's interests and needs. This means that I strive for students to enjoy lessons, to know that they are improving, to be challenged by the instrument, and to be playing the music that will help them the most in light of their goals as a violinist. I am open to teaching all ages, from 5 years old and up. Presently, I teach individual violin lessons at Evanston Township High School and in my home. Additionally, I previously worked doing violin repair and bow rehairs in a violin shop through high school and independently through college. Consequently, I am able to offer my students affordable and convenient repairs.
