About
Pamela
:
Hi, my name is Pamela. I am a Graduate of Texas A&M, College Station,Texas with a Degree in Animal Science. I didn't use my degree particularly, instead I married a Veterinarian and for many years I worked in our 3 clinics as a Veterinary Technician and management of the Clinics. I have a great love of animals especially horses. Presently I have a young horse in training. We do Jumping and Dressage. I have competed at the upper levels of Eventing for many years(eventing is like a horse Triathlon). In 1995 I graduated from the Suncoast School of Natural Healing in Tampa Florida with a degree in Massage Therapy.I had my own Massage business for many years. I also do Equine Massage and worked as an official Massage Therapist at the 1996 Olympics with the Modern Pentathon Team. I am also a pastel and charcoal artist and have sold many of my works. I mainly draw horses. I have job experiences from many different areas of life. I have taught English riding at the Delphian School in Sheridan Oregon, been Quality Control Director of a rock mine in Ingles, Florida, had my own swimming pool repair/construction business in Michigan amongst many others. One of the many things I am most able to do is teach you how to study so that you are never in mystery as to what to do if you suddenly feel "blank" after reading something. In 1990 I took a 6 week course on how to study and it totally changed my life. I knew from that point forward I would never be the effect of the information I was trying to learn and I could master it. In 2004 I took this study course again because additional data had been added and I wanted to do a refresher. So this is just a little bit about me. I feel confident that I can help you with any study problems. I have techniques that are quick, concise and nothing short of amazing. Please call me to discuss your individual needs. I would love to help you be more able. Thank you for reading this. Pamela

's Experience:
anatomy
I took Anantomy and Physiology initially at LSU in Shreveport, Louisiana as part of my degree requirements. Later in 1993 I attended the Suncoast School of Massage in Tampa Florida. I graduated in 1995 with straight A's. At this school I got extensive hands-on experience with how the body is put together and moves through the use of study aids like the "muscle man" which is a life size model of a man with the muscle layers and all of the origins and insertions. In addition to this we had a skeleton replica to get hands-on experience with not only where the bones are located but how they articulate with each other. I had to memorize all of the muscles, bones, vascular system, nervous system, etc. The key however is application. I can actually understand how the body is put together and works. I don't have all the answers but I have wonderful references that I use in case I need additional data should a student have additional questions.
horseback riding
I have been riding competively since 1980 in the field of English Riding. I competed extensively from Texas to the East Coast from 1980 to 2005. My sport is Eventing which is basically a Triathlon for the horse; Dressage, Cross-Country Jumping and Show Jumping. I taught riding to 70 students a day in the summer of 1991 at The Delphian School in Sheridan Oregon. In 1992 I began training with Karen Lende(O'Connor) in Upperville, Virginia. Karen has been to the Olympics several times and is presently at the top of her sport. I learned invaluable skills from her teaching. In 1996 I attended the Olympics in Atlanta Georgia where I worked as an Equine Massage Therapist and also got a new set of very high standards of "What Is Professionalism"? Since that time I have free-lanced riding lessons with a few select students because this is not a full time job for me. I presently have a young Dutch Warmblood in training ( I am the trainer) and we are concentrating on Dressage and Show Jumping.
study skills
I completed a course called "The Student Hat" in 1991 and I took a refresher of this course in 2004. The course took about 6 weeks full time to complete. Among some of the sudy skills taught are: 1. How to use a dictionary 2. How to identify the 3 barriers to study and how to overcome them. 3.What to do if you suddenly feel confused and go "blank" and can't remember what you just read 4.How to separate true data from false data 5.How to apply the data you learn in life (sometimes you can't) There are many more aspects of this course that I haven't mentioned, but the end result of this course was that I can confidently study any subject I choose to and understand it. I have materials to teach others this method and have done so many times. In 1991 I taught at The Delphian School in Sheridan Oregon where I helped students with ESL. I used this study method to facilitate the learning of English by a Chinese girl. Also my enthusiasm for learning was rehabilitated and now to this day I am still studying and learning with the same gusto as when I was a child.
