I have undergraduate majors in both math and science. My major for Masters and Ph.D was curriculum.
I have over 24 years of professional teaching experience, as a classroom teacher, several years as a substitute, and as an adjunct university professor. This has given me experience in the entire realm of teaching. I also have four years experience in the central office as coordinator of gifted and talented.
I have developed skills in communication: both receiving and giving oral and written instructions, answering questions, relating clearly what is expected. Also I have sharpen my skills in organization: writing goals and objectives, material flow, maintaining order, research and coordinate new programs.
I have instructed in computer labs in elementary school, high school and college. Although I have taken only a few classes on the operation of the computer, I can say that I am very proficient in application programs. In the past I have used train boards, presentation programs, digital converters and projectors in the classroom. I have taught keyboarding, word processing, database, spreadsheet, presentation programs,filing programs and connecting to the Internet.

I have played chess since I was eight years old. I have beaten master chess players. I have been beaten by master chess players. I currently play when I get the chance and online.

I have my bachelors and masters degree in Elementary Education from Ohio University. I am all but dissertation for a Ph.D. in Elementary Education from the University of Akron. I have 24.5 years experience teaching in grades 4 - 12. I believe in teaching from a student's learning level rather than the student's grade level.

I played trumpet professionally for six years. I was in the Navy Band and then toured with several groups. I have studied with Harry Herforth, Edward Masters, Earnest Bastin, Bernard Adelstien and John Coffey. I still play in jazz bands, orchestras and brass bands. I have taught trumpet for 20 years.
