My name is Shaifa, and I am 23 years old. I have just completed my Masters in Secondary Math Education from Niagara University. My undergraduate degree in Mathematics is from the University of Buffalo. I have always had a strong desire to teach, and am very pleased after having finally received my teaching certification! I look forward in hearing from you and helping your child achieve and improve in their studies!

MY TUTORING APPROACH
Through the masters program I have just completed, I have been able to learn several different techniques in applying differentiated instruction and accommodating for various learning styles. My goal, when working with children is to not just have students learn the material, but truly have a deep understanding of it.

MY EXPERIENCE
My past work experience consists of serving as a middle and high school math teacher in various parts in Buffalo, as well as a 6th grade science teacher's assistant. I have served as a reading specialist assistant in Buffalo, and I have also been able to travel to various countries in the world and volunteer my skills of teaching ESL to chlidren and adults preparing for TOEFL exams (China, Thailand, South Korea). Also, I am currently serving as private tutor for two other students in Math and English - I am proud to say that I have noticed drastic improvements in their understanding and confidence in the material I have helped them with!
