About
Faith: |
|
Hi, my name is Faith. I'm including a few details here about myself so that you can see if I am the right tutor for you: I was educated in the public school system, so I know how it works. My education is built upon many challenging honors, Pre-AP and AP classes. I graduated eighth in my class of 566. I am a 2006 AP Scholar with Distinction. My total SAT score is a 2310. My total ACT score is a 32. My grades and my standardized test scores have put me at the college of my choice, The University of Texas at Dallas, with a full scholarship. I believe that you or your student can accomplish this too. I am always striving to do my very best in everything, and that includes in tutoring. I believe education is a very important part of a person's life, and I want to make a difference by encouraging students to learn. Currently, I am tutoring at two different high schools in Dallas. I am also tutoring two Wyzant students. I have had experience tutoring 1st through 3rd graders, a highly-functioning autistic 9th grader, and various other students who just happen to need help when I am nearby. I am currently in a UTeach program, which is training me to be a teacher and will provide me with a teaching certificate upon graduation. This program is very hands-on, and I will be getting classroom experience. I believe all this experience will help me to help you. I look forward to hearing from you! |

Faith's Experience:
violin
|
I have played the violin for ten years. In high school, I was part of the top orchestra out of five. The top orchestra at my high school won sweepstakes at UIL every year. I have not only played the violin myself but have also supplemented the violin instruction my brother received from school. I have helped him through the beginning phases, in which one learns to hold the instrument, pluck notes, and bow basic notes. I continue to teach him at home as he progresses through the intermediate stages. I correct his intonation and his wrist posture. I applaud him when he masters a certain technique or a piece, but I also give him the constructive criticism needed to improve his playing. I would do the same for any other violin student.
