About
Marianne: |
I have been teaching marine biology for three years now, and there's nothing I love more. My work experience has typically existed in a non-traditional setting, meaning I have taught mostly in outdoor classrooms or on boats. However, I know how to bring that outdoor experience into traditional settings as well. The hands-on learning approach that I am familiar with is a skill I believe all students should experience. For example, what better way for a student to learn about sharks than to have them examine one in their hands. What better way to bring home a concept like fish morphology than to have a student go snorkeling with fish that were just discussed in class. My adventures in teaching have led me to wonderful destinations such as the Florida Keys, California, Costa Rica, Alaska, and Belize.
I am a very driven individual, and I received excellent grades as a student in middle and high school, and in college @ Rowan University. Currently, I am studying to receive my MS in Science Education @ Florida Institute of Technology. I have a expansive knowledge in the field of biology, even though I specialize in marine biology. I have taught students from 1st grade thru college on this subject; therefore, I know how to cater to a wide range of learning levels.
I am a very patient, energetic, studious individual who is waiting for the opportunity to pass on my knowledge of biology to others. I'm aware of how daunting this subject can be, therefore I want to help make your son or daughter's road to an A in biology a little bit easier. I look forward to the opportunity of working with your family:) |
