Hello, my name is Tonya. I am a wife and a mother of two wonderful sons. I was a substitute teacher for nine years in the public school system in Tn., a special education assistant for one year, a Sunday school teacher for five years, and a AmeriCorp-PeaceCorp (service) member for three years. Through these wonderful years and opportunities, I fell in love with teaching. As a family decision, I enrolled in college and began pursuing my degree in education. Through many years of hard work and dedication, I saw my dream come true in May 2007. I was blessed with the opportunity to teach throughout my college years while attending school. Because of my determination to see children learn to read and read to learn, I pursued a degree that highly qualified me in all subject areas. I have taught all grade levels K-8, and have tutored many high school students in reading, math, science, and language. I love teaching, and am blessed each time I see a student's face light up when they realize they, too, can and are able to learn. I currently hold a Bachelor of Science degree, with a GPA of 3.94, and highly qualified in all subject areas. I would appreciate the opportunity to work with and help your child reach and exceed their potential for learning. All students can learn, we as educators help them discover what kind of learner they are, whether they are auditory, visual, sensory, or kinetic learners. They can and will overcome any obstacles they have in education. I believe learning should be fun, enjoyable, and meaningful. We all have a way we learn and retain information. If given the opportunity, I will help your child to find his or her style of learning.

Hello, I have two degrees in Elementary Education, grades k-8. I did student-teaching during the last two years in college, these classes included grades of Kindergarten,second, third,fifth, sixth, seventh, and eighth grade, and taught all subject areas. Prior to college, I was a Special Education Teacher's Aid, and did Inclusion in the classroom, as well as, in small groups. I was a substitute teacher for nine years in grades k-12, and was a pre-school teacher for one year.
