More On Kimberly's Subjects:

  • Bible studies

I went to a Jewish High school where I took 5 different classes pertaining to Judeo-christian theology. I learned scripture from a critical perspective, I learned how to read Aramaic, and I learned Jewish Philosophy and principles. I also learned the history and evolution of Judaic studies, the various critical writings regarding the bible, and the outlook of other faiths on the old testament. I have pursued biblical studies in Israel as well, having taken classes under renown rabbinical authorities and in Tel-Aviv University.

  • Hebrew

My mother is Israeli, so I grew up speaking Hebrew at home. I also went to a Jewish High school where I learned to read and write in Hebrew. I have been to Israel every year for at least 3 months since I was born and spent my junior year and 2 subsequent summers studying there. I have some background in teaching Hebraic studies, as I have tutored peers of mine in the past. I got an 800 on the Hebrew SAT II and feel I would be adequately equipped to help prepare students for that test. I also wrote for 2 Hebrew newspapers in the past and have had Hebrew-English translations published at Boston University.

  • study skills

I have a brother with a learning disability who is extremely unorganized and often unfocused. In the past, I have helped him to organize his materials and prepare him for tests and papers. I have also taken study skill classes at my university, so I know small tricks and good tips for extra preparation and, when necessary, last minute cramming. I also am great with coming up with fun study devices that appeal to kids and stimulate their memories and understanding of the subjects.
