I am a dyslexia tutor. Trained for about a year at Marburn Academy in Columbus, OH. My lone student, for 5 years, was my grandson (which was the reason I became a tutor). He had been written off by the school at unable to read, write or do arithmetic.

I worked with this child for 5 years and when he graduated high school, he was reading proficiently. The school told us that he was right on the borderline as far as whether to have him take the test required to graduate high school. Once the school realized that he could learn to read, spell, and write they then started working with him as well.
